Drawing-A-Day // February 03 2015:
The wordsmith himself. A study. I must fill my life with studies. More studies. So many studies. Buried in studies. STUDIES. Fact: Eric Idle has the best eyes.
"Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will make me cry by myself in a corner for hours."

Drawing-A-Day // February 01 2015:
I am the #1 fan of excruciating detail. My drawings of late have transformed into fleeting moments. I miss the maddening joy of slaving away at my desk for hours-- the bloodshot eyes, the sense of satisfaction, the pencil or chalk patina running the length of my forearm. Where is the agony?!

Hamburg's finest, mister Paul Ramon.
....
It's been a long, long while since I last sat down with a pencil. It's time to gather the Ol' Graphite 'N' Wood and lose myself in an all day drawing, methinks.

Can't You Read the Line?!
Drawing-A-Day // January 22 2015:
Thinkin' 'bout lines. Line, line, everywhere a line. Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind.

There once was a man called Peter, and his pageboy was the greatest in all the land. He also made a mean root beer soup.

Everyone knows
It's me and my Arrow.

IT'S ALIIIVE!
HELLO! Towards the end of last summer I showed a stranger my artwork and he jokingly remarked:
"What is your obsession with this guy?"
If you're a human being with properly functioning eyeballs, and you've seen what I do, you know what he meant. I was starting to feel a bit blase about my work around then anyway, so I took this stranger's reaction to heart. I'd been drawing the same thing over and over again. And on top that, things were craaaaaap. So I tried to switch gears, but just couldn't summon the energy to do much. It's strange that my work isn't changing. When I look through my back catalog, I can see that time always seems to do that for me.
Now that things are no longer craaaaaap, I'm beginning to drum my fingers together menacingly and plot myself back onto the (drawing) horse.
It's been something like eight months since I last posted here (though I have dutifully continued to fill my journal). I cringe a bit about most of the material from 2014. It just doesn't feel representative of anything other than a zombie version of myself-- and not the cool, dreamy, Colin Blunstone, Rod Argent kind. So here I am once more. Here goes Mission: Turning Over a New Leaf.
...........
I like to look to Ye Olden Days when I'm feeling uncertain. Here's a palate-cleanser for ya before I launch into 2015. Nine (!!!!) years ago, a fifteen year old dweeb climbed into a Beatles black hole. There were kites and truffles and postmen and Sunday drivers. It was lovely.
